Easy/Intermediate Piano duets?
on: October 01, 2006, 03:20:45 AM
I want to play a piano duet with my little sister.  I think it would be a nice little project for us.   I'd prefer four hands to two pianos.

I am about a grade 7/8 level and she is in level 4.  Obviously because of the gap I'd want something on the easier side, but I'm not exactly sure what she can handle cause I never did that grade.  So I'd rather have a duet that is obviously much lower than 7/8 but something that still sounds nice. XD

  Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance. =)

What a lovely idea, Elisianna!

Many duet books are set up so that the secondo is more difficult--"for the teacher" to play.  That could be your part, and your sister take the primo.

You may have to sift through several books to find just the one you both want, but it's even more fun to read and play through music together!  Especially great when it's a little on the easier side for you both to sightread...

There is a LOT of material in teaching, much less so than in the real rep, but don't dismiss it too lightly.  It's great fun, and there is a load of good music in there.
