Listen To My Recital! Feedback Welcome.
on: October 07, 2006, 10:06:50 PM
Hey all,

Just wanted to post my performance of Chopin's Ballade in G minor and get some of your feedback.  Please look past the obvious mistakes...I just had a couple of lapses and made a couple of stupid mistakes.  Also sorry about the large file size, I can shrink it if need be... anyway here it is:

Hi,

your introduction needs mor expression and the presto con fuoco more fuoco . Also i think you could polish a few parts e.g. : just before the last repetition of the main theme your right and left hand are not well balanced, the melody needs more cantabile. But the foundation is surely good.

I started working on this piece several weeks ago and some parts are really giving me hell, like for example the octave runs. Anyway, though maybe overplayed, the ballade is a really beautiful piece.

They gave me hell too when I was learning this (finished learning)

Ok, about the performance. You intro needed more expression. you main theme was too fast. The first repition of the main theme was too slow. WWWWAAAAAAYYYYYYY too many wrong notes. Your con fuoco needs more con fuoco. Your coda was too slow slow. Oh yeah, did I mention that there were too many wrong notes.

Your doing good, with some more practise I'm sure you can get this down really well. This is an extremly hard piece and I congradulate you for learning it at this level.

Good luck 8)
