Oskar Bolck Sonatina in G Major Opus 59 No.2
on: October 11, 2006, 07:47:16 PM
I need to find the sheet music to this complete sonatina ASAP. After weeks of trying to find it, I've had no luck. :( The sonatina is obviously a bit obscure, but  the 3rd movement only is published in a current mixed repertoire book published by Frederick Harris, a big publisher, as well has in a couple of other books I've found.  I've  emailed Frederic Harris 3 times to ask them if they knew where I could get the first two movements, but they never answered me.

It has come up in German on a some web searches. Here's hoping that someone out there on Piano Street has the first and/or second movements, the complete sonatina, or reads German better than I and can assist me in ordering it from a music company in Germany...or anywhere! ;)

Oskar Bolck: Sonatina in G Major Opus 59 No. 2

Sincerely,

Laura

Music Publishers can be unhelpful gits. I have lost count of the number of e mails i have sent that have never been replied to.

I agree that someone fluent in German could probably help you out.

However, the score is in the collection of the British Library and you can order a copy from them. Here is the link.

https://catalogue.bl.uk/F/JGNBSLXA6YN1L562HSDBRVIJXCRF7HC74T9XSE1KRQ72F7K32E-07213?func=full-set-set&set_number=130423&set_entry=000007&format=999

They are not noted for speed. In my experience it is usually 2 to 4 weeks.

Cost about £35 with shipping if you don't live in England.

Hope this helps.

Thal

PS If you do get it and ever get round to scanning it, can i please have a copy for my files ;D

:D Thank you very much! I just went to the site and I think I shall ask for electronic delivery and hopefully they will do that. I'm assuming that means email. I will certainly send you a copy if I receive one 8).

Hi. I received an email reply from someone at the British Library this morning and I'm a bit confused about their directions. (although they were very kind and understsanding).

From what I gather, a request for copies of sheet music requires the services of a library person who is a special "music copier. From the time of my request it will take about 25 days to copy and then they will mail it.  I guess the electronic service isn't available for sheet music.

I haven't been able to get any further than that yet, although when you gave me the link I was able to maneuver  all the way to the page where I put my name, address, email and even credit card number, but it wouldn't accept the request to order. It had NOTHING to do with my credit card..really!  ;)

If anyone out there in a country other than the USA(I've exhausted every resource I can think of here), knows of a music store where they have this piece I'd appreciate the info. I will pay you to buy it, for your trouble and to mail it to me etc. (I have 100% feedback on Ebay  ;D And while it appears that I have only particpated on Piano Street 3 times, I changed my name and have been here a long time. I have good references :)
If someone out there has the complete sonatina in their personal archives and would be willing to lend it, copy it, sell it, mail it, I'll be happy to pay for that as well. I'm not rich, just desperate at this point because I don't have 25 days before I need this piece.

Where Oskar went, I wish I knew :'(

P.S. I really DO have 100% feedback on Ebay..and Pay Pal. I've been selling a great deal of my music..over 30 year's worth. It's time for me to make some room in the studio. It is overflowing into other rooms....

Sincerely,

Laura

Laura,

It is indeed a nightmare ordering from these people, but i have done it about 30 times now, so i am used to it.

They did not provide digital scans of musical scores, only photocopies on large A3 sheets.

I suggest you print all of the details from the entry on the Integrated Catalogue and then use this link  https://www.bl.uk/imaging/imagingorder.html

That is the imaging order form, where you will need to enter some of the details you have copied from the catalogue.

It does work, i assure you.
