Liszt;Gondoliera (Venezia e Napoli) Notes question
on: October 11, 2006, 11:04:20 PM
Liszt;Gondoliera (Venezia e Napoli)
Could someone kindly tell me if I’m reading these bits correctly? I have a Schott edition.
Bar 43, the sequence of semiquaver triplets, key signature 6 sharps;
In the third set of triplets we have Fx (F double sharp), and when the F reappears it reverts to F#. In the twelfth set again we have Fx but the following Fs are not resharped, so I assume remain as Fx?
(Now it would be nice if they did revert to F# because then the pattern would remain the same …)
A similar question in bar 62 (pp veloce e leggierissimo);
In the upper voice the sixth triplet begins with A#, the A having previously been naturalised. The following A is then another natural. However in the eighteenth triplet of the sequence the A is not resharped, even though the previous A and the following A have natural signs. Is this a misprint?
I am hoping for misprints as I’m hunting for as many patterns and repetitions as possible!

1. My edition is like yours, but it does change if you look closely. In the 8th triplet the B is sharpened starting a little variation from the previous neutral B, following the double sharpened F.
2. Its not a misprint, its a perfect chromatic line. Every triplet lowers one half step each time.

Thank you, I was going boss-eyed from looking!
