musical about friendship
on: October 13, 2006, 02:21:35 PM
i thought the kindergarten was going to have a 'musical' musical - but it's going to be a themed musical which has everthing from letter reading to singing songs about friendship.  so, here goes.  does anyone have any scores they'd want to upload from:

tarzan - 'you'll be in my heart'
sister sledge - 'we are family'
alladin - 'you ain't never had a friend like me'
'i get by with a little help from my friends' - beatles
'let me tell you about my best friend' - the courtship of eddie's father
'come on and get happy' - partridge family
'we're all in this together' - disney

come to think of it - these are all probably copyrighted - so i'll just look at barnes and noble for a book with most of them in it - or the library.

also, for the first day of school - no friends theme - gilbert and sullivan 'poor wandering one.'  i have this one already.

I think that "pianolist" may just have the best answer in possessing no television...

i didn't come up with this list of songs, btw.  if it was up to me, i'd have done a gilbert and sullivan or something.  actually, there are probably a lot of really great modern musicals for kids these days.  but, i think the problem is time and involvement.  some parents have a lot of time and others don't - so they wanted to equal the playing field in favor of the ones that don't have time.
