this guy is totally insane. according to the liner notes of his complete alkan op 39, he gave an all alkan recital with the complete op 39, among others, and made it over 3.5 hours long, and when he was 17!!! even though i dont like his concerto or symphony very much, he still deserves respect for his accomplishments. he totally owns this etude, btw.

Allegro barbaro isn't a title but a piece indication exactly like : Allegro maestoso, Allegro con fuoco, Allegro molto ... etc. Allegro barbaro is just another of these.
