What kind of piano should I buy?
on: January 24, 2004, 07:51:25 AM
All my life I've had a Mason and Risch, really old, "piece", and my parents and I are looking into buying a used piano. Something that sounds great and has a great feel to playing it is what I'm looking for (but aren't we all). Nothing over about $5000 CDN, which is around $3500 US dollars. I have no clue what companies are good, or even what types of pianos are the best. Nothing electric. Suggestions, suggestions, suggestions!!!
Please!!
Thanks in advance,
TS

Look at the recent thread on the Kawai K-18. That should be pretty close to your price range (assuming new piano). Or you can try to find other used Yamaha or Kawai uprights (I think these brands are more abundant in the used piano market).
