why is no one ever in the chat room

and whenever people are in there it's always the same people. Is everybody else afraid to go in there or what?

Ignorant as I admit to being in such matters, wouldn't "1 person in the chatroom" be indicative that the said person might be talking to him/herself?

I tried it a few times when it first started but soon realised that I'm simply not very good at chat. Aside from that, positioned where I am on the globe, I seem to be too early for the Europeans and too late for the Americans. When it's evening here, it's still sparrow-fart in Europe and all the Yanks are in bed.
