List of posts on the way Bernhard teaches/practice?
on: October 18, 2006, 07:17:55 AM
Hi,

I have been searching on the forum on the way Bernhard conduct his lesson and teaches his student and also, his expectation on how his student should practise and analyse the piece the student is working on.

However, I'm having a little trouble in a way as, probably, my search terms was not very effective, I didn't manage to find the exact post for them.

Can anyone help me to contribute the link to his amazingly selfless posts?

I would volunteer to compile them into something easily accessible for all.

Any one can help me, please?    :P

Thanks a million in advance.

Cheers.

Hi Han.

When I want to find a post by Bernhard I use the ADVANCED search function.

For a search word I type in "The".  (without the quotes)

Then in the author box I type in Bernhard.

This will list all of Bernhard's posts giving fairly large bites of content because of the word "The' being used as the search word.

You can also limit the results by only searching in one forum at a time, like Student Corner, or Teaching, etc.

And of course, of you are looking for something specific you can just type that in as the search word instead.

Many of Bernhard's posts consists of nothing more than a long lists of links to his very own post, each one having a comment under it telling what it's about.

If you find enough of those you can just copy and past those links and organize them however you like.

If you do compile a well-organized index to Bernhard's posts that would be nice.  Bernhard himself may have some kind of index to his own posts.  Is he still around to ask?

I should imagine a discrete PM to Bernhard checking he is willing might be politic. Even though his comments are public domain, to publish them all in an index form without asking could be considered presumptious.  I would always check with my source.

Posting links to other members posts, and quoting them, is done on the forms everyday all the time.  Why would you suggest that any special permissions be requested in this case?

Now if Han was planning on printing the posts out and publishing them in a hardcopy book that's a whole different ball of wax.   But I don't think that's what he meant.

Hi leucippus / pianowelsh,

Thanks for the tip on the search, I'll try it out ...  immediately after the post...

I am really sorry if I did something inappropriate.   :-[
I really didn't mean to....    ???   I was just hoping this could help beginners like me to get quicker access to Bernhard's informative posts.

Is there a way I can revoke this post in this case?

Thanks and my apologies once again.   :-[
