on the night he was murdered...
on: October 20, 2006, 09:44:45 PM
'on the night he was murdered, bernardo baptista dined simply on bread and cheese and a bottle of merlot.  the wine was a bit young, bernardo was not.  neither would continue to age.'

what an interesting beginning ms. nora roberts starts out with in 'the villa.'

ok.  i switched over to the bible.  but, just for you - i go back to the novel for one brief moment.  i think it's language, thal.  the language of writers.  how they get a message across.  it can be with a few words.  but, very descriptive ones.

oh dear.  i think it was his own daughter.  she was jealous of the young wife and didn't like it that he was oblivious of her.  the plot thickens.  i'm skipping about 100 pages.

well, besides reading the bible and this novel - i am contemplating thalberg.  i had absolutely nothing to say on that thread about 'let's play thalberg.'  i feel sad and ashamed.  i know nothing of thalberg.  perhaps this is why i am vicariously attracted to you.  can you play some for me sometime?  perhaps it will give me a reason to give up christianity and stab you in the back with a fork.  but, more likely - i shall be transfixed by it - and say 'why have i never heard this before?'  actually, i'm hoping you'll stay christian.  you did say that you were, right?  or were you just doing that to get the coasters to stay in one place.

do they wear anything under the robes?  or is that also similar to the irish kilt?  what happens if the belt comes off?  is there any limit on foot sizes for monks or do they use footbinding?

say, i thought of another similarity.  they both like soft soled shoes.

i'm just curious.  as usual.

what are the equivalents of monks in the buddist religion for women.  they don't have nuns?  i see, they can be sanskrit or pali - but the nuns are often called 'homeless ones' and the others are not recognized by the order - so basically serve in a sort of quiet way excepting in japan where they have more rights?

That's true. The Sequentia Claviensis must be as thick as a telephone directory, and he seems to have a way with those.
