Two-piano repertoire

I am considering joining a chamber music program, but there is a lack of string players, so I will most likely end up playing a two-piano piece with another pianist.

Can anyone recommend any really good pieces written for two pianos?  Thanks.

The Scaramouche by Milhaud is a fun thing to play

Rach has some great stuff in the Suites, his symphonic dances, and his Rhapsody for 2 pianos, worth checking out.

try out the lutosławski variations on a theme of paganini. this is a great showstopper. ill probably be doing this soon. i really love this piece. tehres a vid on youtube of it somewhere.

'Duettino concertante after Mozart's Piano Concerto no. 19' by Busoni is a blast. I think the music for it might be relatively hard to find, but it's so much fun. Not too difficult, but not easy either.

messiaen's visions de l'amen is a really good piece for 2 pianos. and its very tonal, which is not always the case with messiaen.

"Entre Cloches" from Sites auriculaires by Ravel is a little known gem.

Saint-Saëns wrote a ton of music for two pianos that is relatively unknown...but fabulous! Check out the Polonaise...fun, semi-virtuosic, and shouldn't take too long to learn.

Better the first. also for is architectural semplicity... The Valse is marvellous, the Romance truly romantic and the polonaise... if you have good bows... well very "funny". The octave end was consiodered at the time one of the more spectaular
