Bach Piano Prelude
on: November 05, 2006, 08:52:25 PM
I need to pick a Bach Prelude to sutdy at school. Any advise on which one? it needs to be harmonically, structually, melodically ...etc... interesting, and generally have lots to stuff to write about it...
Thats a bit vauge, but some suggestions as to where to start would be great.
Cheers!

I think the very first Prelude in C major from the WTC II is one of the most interesting of the entire 48. It has four voices, pedal points, strettos, imitations, a lot of chromaticism. Really quite extraordinary.
