Mendelssohn - Fantasy Op 16-3 in E major
on: November 07, 2006, 08:19:58 PM
What a lovely piece. It is one of the best works by Felix Mendelssohn IMO
The masterpiece tell the performer what to do, and not the performer telling the piece what it should be like, or the cocomposer what he ought to have composed.

The Scherzo op.16 nš2 in E minor is a masterpiece too.

I played the whole Op.16 a couple years back and yes they are good pieces and a good intro to Mendelssohn's music.  Definitely among his best works.
