Right hand fingering
on: November 12, 2006, 04:30:46 AM
Hiya. I have no teacher and I teach myself by slowly learning and playing intermediate pieces I find. Problem is, I am clueless about some fingering. Which you'll find rather simple, and so might I have had I learned scales.

Exhibit A:

I'm pretty sure the fingering for the left hand is 5-1-2-1-3-1-4-1, but I'm not sure. I have to do that for the whole song, so I want to make sure I'm right.

Exhibit B:

Um...how do I do that with just the right hand, really fast? Also, do I have to do some sort of 3-2-1-3-2-1 thing for the left? Because I just use...one finger...don't beat me.

Exhibit C:

...any help that can be given is useful.

Thank you so very much to anyone who responds! It may seem like I'm helpless, but I'm a fast learner, I swear.

 Dear Siraaji:
 In the first excerpt, I would use 5 1 2 1 4 1 4 1, with some wrist movement in the 4141.
In B, the questions are: how fast you have to play, and what articulation you want. I see no problems to play with a single finger if you want a "slow to moderate" and stacatto bass. Although you use one finger, you don't actually play with it: use your wrist or (if some strenght is required) your forearm. Anyway, I would use 4 3 2 1 to play this. It shall seem tricky, but once you get acquainted, it's very confortable and easy to do.
Third excerpt: what is your doubt? It's straightforward, but the sustained E. It have to be played with a thumb, either right or left. Try and figure out what is better to you. There's no difference in sounding.
 Hope it helps! Best wishes!
