i hate barbers!
on: November 18, 2006, 07:09:38 PM
I hate them.  They always cut my hair too short.  I don't have any hair left anymre.  The guy must have taken off four inches.  My curls are all gone.  I hate it.  It looks terrible.  and it cost $13.  A rip-off.  Everybody is going to hate it.  That's what they all love is the curls.  And they're all gone.  It's making me cry.

Curls are for girls.

You are better off without them.

I don't hate Barber's. On the whole, however, I think that, more often, I prefer Carter's.

wow, you really care about your hair.

I'm so careless it's ridiculous.  Typically I go for a haircut because it's gotten into my eyes and is a bother...  But I TRY and care about my hair.  I've played around with gels, and every time I go to the hairdressers I ask them if they have any ideas of what to do with the loaf, but none will even hazard a suggestion.

I'm thinking of just getting a trimmer to buzz the head myself from time to time.

No one has yet mentioned the phrase "having a bad hair day"...

Why on earth would you do such a thing?

Why not? (or should I have asked "what next?"). There is much to admire in Barber, but, I think, even more to admire in the very different Carter (and over a considerably longer creative period which ain't up yet, as far as I know - he's either about to complete, or has just completed, a horn concerto but I don't know what he proposes to do next)...

Best,

Alistair

Hm, perhaps a bit static. Bars 188-193 from the Night Fantasie is good, but the music doesn't move me. Not that I am saying it is bad. His early music shows that he was/is a genuis, so his new music is probably to clever for someone like me.
