Here’s an interesting blog I came across the other day: https://pianomusings.blogspot.com/

It’s by a composer/pianist, who has a strong emphasis on improvisation and the creative process, as opposed to the predominantly re-creative process we tend to use in classical music. I find his perspective refreshing, and has a lot of critical truths that we can lose sight of in our classical pianist box of thinking.

Anyways, I previously thought blogs were useless, but now I can see how they can share useful perspectives...  Especially from bloggers who are actually doing what they talk about.  Their words are based on reality, as opposed to many who tend to think, speak and write a lot of speculation.

What I like most about listening to people who are actively doing, is how they can show you different possibilities...  To me, that was the main value of Bernhards posts - they helped me believe in the possibility of becoming a good pianist.  Same deal with this blog I came across, reading it I can believe in the possibility that I can improvise and compose.

Something else I found in relation to improvising: https://ericbarnhill.wordpress.com/facts-about-improvisation/

About halfway into the comments someone posted a link to this site, which looks like about 3 courses worth of lessons in improv: https://www.improvise.nl

Mm... interesting. I'll finish reading them later. Thanks for the great find.
That's the price you pay for being moderate in everything.  See, if I were you, my name would be Ilovepie.  But that's just me.
