"Eggo" is a brand name of frozen waffles. They have a memorable slogan, " Leggo' my eggo"  ::)

For pianists, this reads "Leggo my ego!"   ;D

OK, I can't resist this one. In the first year of my secondary school, we started Latin. After about a term, we had oral revision, so we went around the class, standing up and reciting declensions and conjugations. We sat in alphabetical order, so Lawson (me) was roughly in the middle. I was given the task of starting the third declension.

"Lawson, decline 'Rex'," called the schoolmaster, without a shred of a twinkle in his eye.

"Ego, me, mei, mihi, me," I said confidently.

"What?" with a glower on his face.

"Er, ego, me, mei, mihi, me, sir," I ventured.

"Cut out the funny stuff, Lawson," came the stern reply. I never did like Latin after that, which I greatly regret. We had a much more inspiring French teacher, so I did modern languages instead.

Poems of Ecstasy – Scriabin’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

The great early 20th-century composer Alexander Scriabin left us 74 published opuses, and several unpublished manuscripts, mainly from his teenage years – when he would never go to bed without first putting a copy of Chopin’s music under his pillow. All of these scores (220 pieces in total) can now be found on Piano Street’s Scriabin page. Read more
