hammerklavier, by far. the length and techincal difficulties are the biggest reasons.

they all work different techniques.  what might be difficult for one person in one composer might be easy for another.  i think it is figuring out the composer's techniques to playing his/her own pieces.  the little 'trade secrets.'

some people play the music - but it has little impact on the listeners.  they can 'play it' but it's not really  impressive because it is difficult.  it is impressive when it makes you sit back and relax and say - wow - that looked easy - when it was really a very difficult piece.

i don't like watching performers making things look more difficult that it needs to look.  like excessive concentration.  i like the ones that look to the right and left occasionally.  or up at the ceiling.

i'd like to hear horowitz play chopin's ballade #4.  i don't recall ever hearing him play it.

Gee, that's never been said before! But people never seem to get it into their head. >:( >:(
At least if you're gonna create another one of these DAM POINTLESS Difficulty polls, focus on what sort of difficulty you want to analyze!
Never look at the trombones. You'll only encourage them.
