I've been assigned this, and would really appreciate advice and tips from those of you who've played it!

Thanks!

1. Begin learning it in chords, this will help get round the notes quicker and memorize quicker.

2. wrists have to be loose, though controlled.

3. learn with and without pedal.

cant really say more till you get more specific. so  just start learning on it, and when you encounter problems, then you can ask.

Agreed. Chord shapes are very helpfull with this piece. Also you want to nail the cross rhythms at the end asap where they come in contrary motion - as this can be a weak spot. Circular practice is also helpfull fro building up speed over one bar or two bars.  I also opperated a line by line policy. Ie 3 times through the line perfect at speed 9Tick) next one starting with the first line and the last line and working into the middle. This way you get quick results and are able to play through the piece relatively quickly.

Cool; thanks for the tips! I'll ask more specific questions if/as they arise. :)
