Hi,
I just sat my 7th grade prac exam today. I had prepared 2nd mvmt Pathetique,by Beethoven (hackneyed I know, but I like it), only to find out that it's the 3rd movement that's required. The examiner was very sympathetic, and I played out the rest of the program, but she explained that the Beethoven would have to suffice as an extra and I would have to go on record as having no B section. I did have a 1st movement of a Mozart sonata which I had laboured on for some time but eventually dropped and I offered to play it, although it was very rusty.
Anyway, I didn't have to, and she told me (unofficially) that she had given me a B grading.
So now I'm happy that I got a B, because I really didn't think I would have gotten an A anyway, but also frustrated, because I would have if the program had have been correct.
I guess there's a warning to always read the fine print, and to check and double check.
Cheers.
