scale playing

just a question, is it normal to stagnate in scale playing? I seem to have a problem to play it faster because one have to do the thumb under finger 3 movement, just can't understand how I can play it fast without destroying the rhytm. :-\

It's probably time to learn thumb over, then.  Some people even start that way.

Maybe you're making some extra unnecessary hand/finger movements you aren't aware of? Try playing it very very slowly and take a close look at how your fingers behave. When I first did this I realised that occasionally some of my fingers were waving, or not hitting with the tips, and other stuff. Once I sorted that out I had absolutely no trouble getting a scale up to speed.

But what if one have long nails? (I'am not a girl), even I cut all of my nails, the nails still make contact with the keyboard  when i try to play with the fingertips...

Well, I meant the fleshy bit underneath your nail, not the actual tip.
