Duet Piano
on: December 10, 2006, 06:00:47 PM
I am a freshman Piano major at Elon University, and next semester I am taking a duet piano course with the other freshmen. We are in search of repitoire, but I am not sure what all exists. Specifically our professor wants something that is either Modern or something written by a Spanish composer. I am also looking for something that is a step up from my current level so that I can keep improving. I have play various preludes and fugues by bach WTC bk.1, and I have played a few rachamininoff preludes including c# minor and g minor and various other compositions. The other freshmen is at the same level as myself. Thanks a lot for all your help.

Well, I have done a search too, but there aren't too many piano duet threads...

There is a "CD Sheet Music" collection for piano duets, containing some of the classic piano duets (Brahms' "Hungarian Dances", Dvorak's "Slavonic Dances", Faure's "Dolly Suite", etc.). Also consider Mozart's Sonatas for piano duet and Rachmaninoff's Op. 11.

You could also consider arranging music originally for orchestra to the piano ensemble of your choice (4-hands, one-piano; two-piano, etc...)

Indeed, here is the table of contents for the duet music. Just let me know if there is anything you want uploaded.
