Very cool.  Did Hummel did other Mozart transcriptions?  It would be such a kick to learn the overtures of either Magic Flute, Marriage of Figaro, Cosi or Abduction.

Money does not make happiness, but it can buy you a piano.  :)

There are opera scores with piano reduction - usually they are pretty decent transcription.
Hummel made several arrangements of Mozart symphonies (Haffner, Linz, Prague, Jupiter etc.) for piano quartet. Liszt in turn transcribed Hummel's piano septet for solo piano.

Mozart was almost as popular with transcribers as Bach.

There are literally hundreds of them.

My favourite is perhaps the Thalberg transcription of Lacrymosa.

Take Your Seat! Trifonov Plays Brahms in Berlin

“He has everything and more – tenderness and also the demonic element. I never heard anything like that,” as Martha Argerich once said of Daniil Trifonov. To celebrate the end of the year, the star pianist performs Johannes Brahms’s monumental Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Philharmoniker and Kirill Petrenko on December 31. Piano Street’s members are invited to watch the livestream. Read more
