Ornamentation - Scarlatti K159
on: December 13, 2006, 04:36:17 AM
Hi all,
Im looking at this piece from the Gr7 list. I like these pieces very much, and this one seems just right to try.
Im having a problem interpretting the ornamentation though. In my edition of the score, ornaments are marked as 'upper mordents'. However, I have three recordings where they are played as trills!
In addition, it seems that several performers play quavers staccato. I try to detach them, but is this something to really excentuate in Scarlatti?
Thanks!
