I own the Hamelin DVD, and it certainly isn't his best playing, great DVD nonetheless.

I have her DVD of the Chopin etudes, and I think she's a great pianist. There's also a video of her playing Horowitz's Carmen Variations, which is really cool. She just seems so comfortable at the piano - even with the hardest stuff.

Hmmm... her playing on this disk seems to lack color. I expected her La Camp and Rach 13/5 to be better, at least. I've heard better from her.

On the contrary, I found the pink dress to get in the way of potentially more enjoyment, don't you think it would be a much more musical performance without a dress entirely?  ;)

Nick

Some people hate her for her early interpretation of Don Juan:

And some just don't like her playing... and that's just too bad.

OH and for anyone who hasn't seen her Rach etude:

Her failure to become one of the most famous classical pianists in the world has proven that itīs not all about sex appeal, thankfully. ;D

Some of her recordings  are great though.

Hey, there are worse!  Like that one "Female Tim Hoffman" topic I saw somwhere...

And she's not flaunting her looks, (at times it sounds) like she's flaunting her technique.  But her CD's and recordings are great.  Live performances not as much.
