Hummel Preludes Op 67
on: December 17, 2006, 07:55:46 AM
Ok, I am bugging now, as I am very much not through with what I have been requesting lately.  All wonderful music though.

Hopefully you all don't mind (particularly you, Thal, who have been so generous yet scrupulous with your collection).

P.S.  L'Art du Chant is a major work.  What a crime the Serkin generation did neglecting that literature.

Oops, forgot the important part.

I have got the score but it is from everynote.com. I don't share their stuff as they cliam copyright and i will probably end up on death row.

It is only $1.99 to download.

Women and the Chopin Competition: Breaking Barriers in Classical Music

The piano, a sleek monument of polished wood and ivory keys, holds a curious, often paradoxical, position in music history, especially for women. While offering a crucial outlet for female expression in societies where opportunities were often limited, it also became a stage for complex gender dynamics, sometimes subtle, sometimes stark. From drawing-room whispers in the 19th century to the thunderous applause of today’s concert halls, the story of women and the piano is a narrative woven with threads of remarkable progress and stubbornly persistent challenges.
