Which orchestral piece you want it to be played on the piano ? Is playing transribed version of a symphony for piano sounds good ?

Beethoven 5 played by Scherbakov sounds very good.

I recently played an arrangement (or transcription) of melodies from Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto.
It is difficult to play the original score because so much of it is the piano accompanying the orchestra, where the orchestra carries the melody line.
I liked playing the arrangement. It sounded great, at least to my ear. It really filled up my hands! Fun fun fun!

Any of the Beethoven symphonies arranged by Liszt are excellent. I believe they may be available here (I know No. 5 is).

i personally dont like transcriptions of symphonies and other orchestral works without piano very much. however, those like liszt and pabst did a good job with their transcriptions. pabst's transcription of the tchaikovsky ballets are very notable.

The greatest transcribers of all are Bach, Godowsky, and Rachmaninov.
