They look like large bogies and taste like them as well.

I hate it when my ma forgets and puts them on my Sunday Roast.

I thought that this was a thread about European legislation. When one considers for a moment the sheer prolixity of it, one has to recognise that, whether or not any of us likes the fact, it is undoubtedly true that Brussels sprouts.

I like them because of their somewhat bitter taste. Also, their typical vegetable texture.

You do need to be sure that they are high quality. Otherwise they won't taste that good.

ironically as a child i loved them, i really did. I would eat 20 of them for lunch or whatever. I have honestly not had one for 15 years. I wonder if id still like them.
Ironic because i never ate any other vegies. The first time i ate a green salad was at 18.

Usually people dislike sprouts because they are too bitter and the people in question have sensitive taste receptors.

Children generally have more sensitive receptors. Some people have more than others.

Shred the Brussel sprout up like cabbage (for cole slaw). Saute in butter and a little garlic. Add a little dry white wine just before it gets done. Salt and pepper to taste. Ummmmmm Don't know what you are missing.

Most chocolate is Ivorycoastian and produced by slaves.

"Ivorycoastian", it's Ivorian, not Ivorycoastian.
"Most"??? Hello? where did you learn that "most" chocolate is produced by slaves? Possibly a large number of cocoa producers in Ivory Coast use slaves, but that not most.
Yes it is attrocious that it is happening at all. But you can't throw around measures of quantity such as "most", because you read an article in the paper about something.

we are blessed to live in such rich countries.  i suppose that there is a lot we do not know about where our food comes from in some instances.  but, i always thought (living here in america) that the cocoa growers in south america were becoming much more independent and that their workers were paid better now than before and not really slaves but choosing to work in that field.  it's like a 'traditional' kind of job.  cocao being used for many things there, too.

french chocolate is soo good too.  perhaps it is mostly belgian?

If the country is called Ivory Coast then something from that country is called 'Ivorycoastian'. If you all it 'Ivorian'.... I don't want to eat ivory chocolate.

"Most"??? Hello?

Hi. They mix op the cacoa making it almost impossible to get slave-free chocolate.

There is currently going a trial going on in which it is possible that everyone that buys chocolate is guilty of handling the moment they know the choloate is produced by slaves.

I actually really like burssel sprouts :).  If you get super fresh and young ones, they are tender, juicy, and perfectly flavored.  Plus, I have some really yummy ways of fixing them with stuff like curry sauce or a mustard sauce... mmmm.
