Hi,
I'm having a recital in a few months and I'm trying to figure out what to actually play. I have learned all of these pieces now, so I am not worried about being able to pull any of them off.
In the recital I have to play:
Beethoven Op. 57 Sonata (~20 min)
Prokofiev 2nd Sonata (~20 min)
Schumann Forest Scenes (~20 min)
Then there are also other pieces which I have learned that I am fond of and want to also include, but I run into a time problem, as it begins to turn into a marathon. The pieces which I would like to include are:
Liszt La Campanella (~5 min)
Liszt Harmonies du Soir (~10 min)
Godowsky/ Saint- Saens The Swan (~2:30 min)
Godowsky/ Schubert The Trout (~2:30 min)
Tchaikovsky- Andante Maestoso from Nutcracker (~5-6 min)
The original program I had concieved would be something like:
Prokofiev Sonata 2
Beethoven Sonata Op. 57
-Intermission-
Schumann Forest Scenes
Godowsky Swan
Godowsky Trout
Liszt Harmonies du Soir
Liszt La Campanella
Encore
Tchaikovsky
Does anyone have any input, or suggestions on what to cut, if anything, or possibly rearranging the order of pieces? I may not actually have an encore, depending if the audience is up for it. I really like ALL of the pieces, and I'm not sure what to do. Thanks a lot.
