need a short Bach piece
on: January 26, 2007, 02:26:12 PM
Hi!

I'm looking for a short piece of Bach, maybe up to 5 mins long, something dramatic, fast, maybe fuguey, maybe in a minor key.. just something nice to open a recital with. But preferably not one of the '48'.

Thanks!

Check out one of the "Duets" (Duettos) BWV 802-805.  They are two-part works as the name implies, rather like the Inventions but each much more developed.  They certainly aren't played too often.

Gigue from Partita nº1 in Bb. It's not in a minor key nor it's fugue-like but it's certainly dramatic and fast
