Hi everybody,
I know that the "suggestion"-kind of posts are too many and may bore most of you, but I need some help choosing a concerto...
First of all, I have never played any concerto, so I am looking for something quite easy. I don't have to play a romantic one, but I would prefer to. So, any classical including Mozart, Beethoven etc don't interest me. I know an easy Mozart might be good to learn as a first concerto, but I really can't listen to that kind of music at the moment.
As for you to get an idea of my level, I am currently studying Chopin's 1st Ballade, Beethoven's Sonata No 23 (Op.57- Appassionata), Scriabin Etude No 12-Op.8 and Chopin Etude No5-Op.25.
So, I am thinking of playing Grieg's. I really like it and I have read that it's not very difficult. Of course, any concerto of that level is Difficult in my opinion, so I would like to hear some suggestions about the easiest romantic concertos, which of course are interesting too... I will say again that this will be my first concerto, so I don't want it to be more than 30-35 minutes, and also not very difficult. (ok, to be more clear ,concertos like Brahms, Rachmaninov, Liszt, Prokofiev are WAY out of my league, so don't bother mentioning.... )
One last thing. What do you think of the Saint-Saens 2nd and the Scriabin(ok this is not romantic but anyway)?
That's all. Sorry for the size of my post
Thanks
