How cold (and hot) is it?
on: February 05, 2007, 05:38:46 PM
Who's got the coldest temp going now?

And then to make people jealous, who's got the warmest now?

I think nicco will win the coldest.

One of the Aussies the warmest.

About 4 degrees here. The birdbath has frozen.

it's been about 15 degrees F here in pa today.  it was so cold this morning i didn't go out - so by 3:30 pm i try to start the van.  nothing doing.  go back inside.  fret.  go back out.  voila.  it starts.

it was minus 42 F in minnesota.  shouldn't complain as it's much warmer than that here.  just that the cat is really confused.  she goes out.  likes to cool off - but then she realizes she's freezing to death after a couple minutes.  in and out in and out.

Two weeks ago, it was 11 degrees F at 2:00 P.M., and negative 27 for the low. Not as bad as Chicago right now, they have negative 35 wind chill factor, and you know those kick up over there. It aint called the 'windy city' for nothing.

It's been around -15 C here lately with windchill around -30 C.  Windchill is the human perception of coldness with the wind factored in.

And when you are outside it it doesent even matter how much clothes you are wearing, the wind drills through it and you can feel it in your bones. brrrrr.

-6 without, -24 with wind chill.

Indiana.

with out wind chill we are at a balmy -25 celcius and with around -30  Its actually warmed up a great deal here,  In november we managed -50 C without windchill.  that was a fun week!

-28 is a norm in Canada Henrah, nothing o really bother with lol.  It also kind of depends where you live because Canada's so huge

In ottawa, the Rideau Canal (the worlds' longest skating rink) hasn't even frozen yet (to my knowledge, as of 2 weeks ago)

Go west an In alberta where I live, the bloody thing would have been froze mid-september.  Friggin' cold -How I hate thee!

I am so sick of trudging through the snow to get to my classes.  Theres one where I have 10 minutes to run almost 1km to my next class (because Arts buildings absolutely CANNOT mingle with enginering buildings. oh my, no...)

Alberta is having a hell of a winter.  Last year we maybe got 1 foot of snow in total all year, This year its been more like 8 or 9 feet (in total right now, we probably have about 2-3 feet of snow on the ground

you're not missing anything.  I almost died in it when I was little.  I was tunneling through the sh it and it collapsed on top of me and I couldn't get out. That was one of the most frightening moments of my life. the stuff is probably the most malevolent inanimate object i know.
