Is Williams brand digital piano good?
on: February 06, 2007, 12:36:14 AM
I'm looking for 88-key, hammer action, realistic sounding and feeling digital piano.  Unfortunately, I only have about $600 to spend.  I found a Williams Concerto digital piano for $400, which claims to have all the features above.

Has anyone tried these Williams brand digital pianos?  I am curious.

As for now, I'm still saving for a Yamaha, because I trust them, and have also played yamaha demos in stores.   I saw the $400 Williams, and my eyes saw a bargain.  Is it, a bargain? The picture looks nice, and the description in my catalog is very convincing, but may be biased I'm sure.

Thanks.

Sir, would you be more specific?  I tried the Williams Etude and found it to be a solid instrument, much much better than higher priced Yamahas and Rolands (and Casios, which are not in the same league, I would say).
Money does not make happiness, but it can buy you a piano.  :)

Thanks for the advice.  Did you have a bad experience with Williams pianos?

That is great news!  I'm a little shocked by your testimony, but I am very glad to hear it.  I was expecting the worst about this elusive brand.  Thanks for replying, and you are right, I need to be more specific.  Here is the piano I am considering.

-------
Williams Encore
"A FULL SIZE, WEIGHTED DIGITAL PIANO FOR UNDER $400"
The Williams Encore combines easy playability with convenient portability at an affordable price.  Choose from 30 realistic-sounding instruments.  Encased in attractive modern dark woodgrain and silver slab design, this keyboard makes an attractive addition to any home.  Optional matching stand and bench are available.
LIST: $600 - Guitar Center Price $399
-------

I am including scans of the advertisements.  The Guitar Center is running these ads.  I go there all the time, and they haven't had these available for demo.   I'll go tomorrow and see if they've put one out on the floor.

Thanks again iumonito :)

Does anyone else have any testimonials about Williams brand?

Thanks.

Hi iumonito, How's the Williams "Encore" performing? I bought a DP in the UK which I believe shares the same innards as the Williams and have found it to be OK.
