Unusual things
on: February 06, 2007, 02:03:55 PM
This is a thread for you guys to share unusual things that you do or have been through.

I have to carry a torchlight with me for night classes, because i'll finish at 9.30pm and there's no light outside. It gets so dark I can barely see the drain that's not too far away from the room!

i don't know if this is unusual or not - but i always want to know how much air is leaking out the windows.  i'm always holding  my hands up here and there around the door and the windows.

my next door neighbor just had her front door done.  i go over and say 'wow, that looks really airtight.  you must have done that to save energy.'  she says' no, actually the door was warped from water damage.'

so then, i'm thinking - ok.  maybe pa isn't that cold for very  long.  this isn't alaska.  BUT, my heating bill was over $300 (gas/electric combined) this month.  i thought maybe i would dry clothes on a line.  but, i'm not used to doing that much work.  i have to get some lines set up in the garage or the laundry room.

must save money must save money  - this is my mantra.  is that unusual?  spending money is easy.  saving money is quite hard nowdays.

i am fascinated by suicide and prostitution.......not sure why.

And once, I wrote "Thank you for everything" on the wall in a janitor's closet, and waited outside to see his reaction.  He laughed alot and almost cried. :)

That's so nice of you! You remind me of Amelie :)

Whenever I finish playing the piano, I always get up and hit a top note whilst walking off, and if I hit one out of key I can't walk away satisfied. It always has to end right else I'd have to keep playing. Kind of become a habbit now lol!

Ahhh that's what I always dream of. To bike so fast that I get into a speed trap. (of course in a 30 mp/h zone  ;D) And then order the photo from the police and share it with my friends lol ;D One day I will do it. I WILL  ;D ;D ;D ;D

I have actually managed to get stopped by the police, but received only a warning.

I was on a long steep hill at the time and managed to reach 48mph in a 40mph zone.

That was the fastest i have ever been on my bike and i have no desire to go faster. I am not exactly "Savoldelli".

The one unusual thing that will happen to me this year is that the Tour De France will pass within 200 yards of my house. Must go and cheer on the brits if there are any left after the prologue.

Assuming that you mean "banned" from this forum for mentioning any of them on this forum, do you actually have hard evidence (if you'll pardon the expression) for that?

Calling yourself "imbetterthenyou" wasn't exactly a bad start, methinks...

But, to be more serious about this, are we about to enter confession time here? Might there not be some risk that, if we all admit to certain things that we do or have done, many of us could be banned as well? While contemplating such a prospect (unlikely though it may be in practice), consider that fact that "pianistimo" alone doth not a forum make...

I'm a teenager but I like classical music and jazz. Its unusual, but I know there are many in the world out there who are like me too.

Don't know if you guys are like me, but often I dream of the future, like a scene and who the people are in it and what they say.

I do the same thing. I think of future situations, how they end and how I could change the result. I'm constantly thinking of the future ramafications of what I'm about to do the minute I think of doing it.

I think I am a slight obsessive-compulsive in certain ways (If that is the right term), a bit like the charachter Jack Nicholson plays in "As Good as it gets"

eg/

1) I must check that I've locked my front door exactly 3 times before I can walk away from the house. I have limited myself to 3 because I was getting up to 4 or 5 times... :-\

2) I sometimes open and reseal letters 2 or 3 times to double/triple check that I have enclosed and signed everything before sending it.

3) I do a walk around the house 2 or 3 times, double/triple checking that the oven is off and that other electrical items are "safe" before leaving the house.

 :-\ :-\

Greetings.

Your posts are very interesting. First some "Airsoft" game of shooting people with paint and imitating a fight, and now porn? We had a sensible and meaningful talk in the chat room and your latter posts suggest that you are not the loving and kind girl I thought you to be. ;)

Are you a girl? I highly doubt that. ;D ;)

But you are only 16. It is just so unusual to see a girl at that age do... so many things. ;) Furthermore, I am unfamiliar with the notion that girls like porn. As I see it pornography is primarily intended for the male community, and often depict the domination of a male over a female, something that I am sure isn't of much pleasure for a girl. I could be wrong though.

Well, it isn't sexual pleasure, just entertainment.
And eh, I like it. And dude, airsoft is FUN. You can shoot people, without them getting hurt!!  :)
What do you mean so many things?
My favorite thing to do is still to read. :)

That's interesting. I always thought that comedy was for entertainment? I guess I can see why certain attributes of porn might be seen as entertaining. The things they say might well fit into that category, albeit however cheesy they might be. You also menitoned prostitution and suicide as fitting your curiosity. I guess I can see why you would say that. These phenomenon are very curious. Just what exactly drives a person to prostitution or suicide.

As fun as "Airsoft" might be I am definately not into shooting people.

Yes, suicide and prostitution are fascinating (especially when conjoined).
I don't condone them, or think they're good, but...to each his own...but they're still fascinating. Just like all the twisted mentalities in Hamlet! (Yes, I relate everything to Hamlet...)

I dunno...I just like weird things, I guess. I promise I'm still nice! ^_^

Okay.. The latest dream I had was about my friends and I sitting on the floor in a circle, discussing about something. My friend said something like "maybe we could do it in a blog, instead of making a website". In my dream, it was as if I knew what she was talking about.

So, on another day, my friends and I were discussing about our research and developement project during our break. We sat down in a circle and started talking about how we were gonna present our progress. And that was exactly what my friend said.

Collecting and watching are two different activities, the latter of which probably more often than not occupies considerably more time than the former. That said, preparing programmes such as those identified in the "Would you pay to go to any of these concerts" thread must take far longer than both put together. Anyone who can manage all of that activity and still have time left over to contribute to this forum would appear to have developed an interestingly - and perhaps uniquely - effective technique for manipulating what Stravinsky called "ontological time"...
