i don't think so, thal.  i thought you already read them all.

is mt. blanc still on.  what's going on.  are you getting acclimated to little to no oxygen at higher altitudes?  the straws in the nose really work, don't they?

say - has anyone seen 'bob' books.  they are great.  they give the child five letters or so - with pictures that start with the beginning letter/sound that they are teaching.  then they use simple sentences to practice using those particular letters.

i have been really amazed at the charlotte lockhart method because it combines grammar AND spelling rules and phonics.  it's hard to find this -b ecause most methods today rely on memory (and sightreading) which only goes so far.  to incorporate everything altogether is much like the way i think piano methods should be.  learning everything at an even pace and not leaving anything to guesswork or just assuming children will learn it by osmosis.  some children do not learn by sight.

the guy who actually came up with the basics for the lockhart method lived in the early part of the century when everything was explained step-by-step to children.  today, there seems to be a big rush on everything - as though learning it fast is good.  i don't think this is always the case.

clarificaton - bob of pianostreet is not affiliated with 'bob' books.  (is he?)  if he were - they would be band oriented probably.

Music is like making love: either all or nothing. Isaac Stern
