heely's
on: March 08, 2007, 06:45:26 PM
ok. i'm attempting to lighten up (*although i still think the sky is falling)
my kindergartener just got some 'heely's' because she thought they would be like rollerskates. i think it's kind of funny because she put them on this morning and tried to roll around the kitchen and couldn't quite figure out what to do. i thought she should put one foot behind the other.
does anyone have younger siblings? can you give us a hint? we figured out how to at least pop the wheels in and out.

These things were invented to tourture people, not to wear.
First, you gotta make sure the wheels are OUT. *duh* Once you got that done, the feet should go one behind the other, with toes pointed up. Then, well give her a push. There is a knack to getting moving on the toes, and then stepping back onto the wheels once you get going. (My little bro figured this all out... I'm still a hopeless failure in this department.) This does sound like a recipie for the world to end though...

thanks so much. i'll be pushing forward. but, she is a very reliant girl and i may end up being like 'mike' in the dr. seuss book - pushing her up hills, etc. until she finally gets the knack of this.
