No it's just that 99.9% of the people on this forum don't know who he is, and that other .1% know his music is trash, so we have no interest in this thread.  Also, these idiotic threads like "Brahms Sonata- Discuss", "Mozart Sonata K.333- Discuss", "Levkovich" etc. are so annoying.  What do you want us to say?

I like him.

Me too.

I don't.

Me either.

Leave him alone man. its pretty obvious what he wants you to say, because he says in his first post "anyone know anything about this composer?"

Im quite clear on this one soliloqy...I have a professional interest when it comes to the education of myself and that of my students. This composer features on one of the diploma lists...I know next to nothing about him so I though - I know - i'll ask however many thousands of people we get on piano forum what they think (that is I believe one of the purposes of a forum) unfortunately it seems that we have a shared ignorance not a shared knowledge...this is indeed sad.  I can only assume that if this work has been deemed worthy by a panel to be put on a syllabus list that it isnt 'total trash'.  If you know it to be so then I would love your opinion..if you can give a reasoned one 'I like it, I dont like it, its !"%"^" are of no benefit to me!...you should know my feeling about such posts already as I have been quite vocal about it.  Im looking for things like duration of the piece - how many movements, character of the movements..approx difficulty level - influences on his music  etc...if you can provide any of these - Id love to hear from you...whether on not you actually think his music is any good!

It seems to me that the problem is more with the empty-headed nature of the replies on the forum. Just like the musicians I knew around campus. Most of them can perform well, but have no real clue about music history (aside from the repertoire they built up by happenstance) and certainly no clue about music post-1925.

If GF ever goes up again, that might be a better place to get a little info on an esoteric pianist or composer, because forum is dull and low-brow.
