Researching into a Recital
on: March 17, 2007, 08:40:04 PM
Need to do a short recital for my AS in music. (its hardly a recital, its so short) only has to be 5-6 minutes.
Basically im assessed on how well i play the piece, and also how difficult the piece is will affect my mark. (i.e. its scaled up if the piece is harder)
So, i checked what grade the pieces had to be for the harder category, and its grade 6 or above. (not each piece necessarily Has to be grade 6 but if the "overall" standard of the recital is around that standard, then thats fine too) when i say grade 6 im referring to ABRSM grades.
So i chose 2 of the pieces i did for my grade 6 all those years ago, and a piece from Schumanns Kinderscenen. (The Poet Speaks).
I have to write program notes. Ive looked online to research some things about the pieces, but i can find VERY little. So i was wondering if anyone could refer me to any websites which had information about the pieces specifically so thati can use the information to write my notes.
Again, the notes are not of a very high standard. I have to write about 3 lines for each piece.... so its really just a few sentences for each.
The 3 pieces are:
Reverie - Chick Corea
Une Larme (A teardrop) - Modest Mussorgsky
Der Dichter Spricht (The Poet Speaks) - Robert Schumann
would be very appreciative if anyone had any information on these.
Thank you,
henry
