Sorry, another one with a purpose. Romanian 4-hand
on: March 21, 2007, 03:11:49 PM
I have been invited to play in a Romanian-themed soiree and I was wondering if you would have something for 4-hands that I could bring along.

Things like a 4-hand arrangement of Hora Staccato, maybe Enescu or Lipatti, dunno.

The Bartok dances are taken, and the Carols seem out of season.

Thanks in advance!

P.S. if you know a Romanian pop song, maybe we can make a cute arrangement, so that would work too!

The Lipatti Danses Roumaines, would appear to fit the bill, but i would get banned if i posted it.

If you get me a date with Nadia Commanecci, I will risk it.

Ah, Nadia!

Thanks, no need to post the Lipatti, as it is, as you pointed out, copyrighted in USA (1946).

What about Hora Staccato, though.  Do you have that?  Grigoraş Dinicu, 1906, so it is Kosher in USA.

If you have it 2-hand or violin and piano, I'll go through the trouble of transcribing for 4 hands and dedicate the arrangement to you.

In the meantime, let me call Nadia.  She was in Montreal last time I saw her.

I do have a solo version, but it is by Heifetz, so it is even more copyrighted.

Have you met Nadia?????????
