I'm touched...
on: March 24, 2007, 10:24:36 AM
A week ago, there was a mass television event as a tribute to sick patients. Celebreties and other people participated in this event to collect donations for the patients. To donate, you had to call their hotline. Everything was going pretty well. The top event of the night was just done by a monk.
There was a tall building, and he was supposed to climb up the building. None of his limbs were allowed to touch the building, and all he had was 2 ropes. He was supposed to thrust himself up using he ropes(Not as easy as you think). 15 floors was the height he was supposed to reach, and 10 minutes was the goal.
In the end, he did not get up to the 15th floor on time. Before he had even reached the 7th floor, he was running out of energy, and had to stop after every thrust to get back his breath. Everybody was touched, a few of the celebreties broke down at the sight of him trying his best to reach the 15th floor. In the end, he finished it in about 22mins.
That sight on television was beautiful...
By the way, in previous years, this monk has performed many in credible feats on these shows. They include:
-staying in a huge tub of ice for over an hour
-Climbing to the top of an indoor tower and standing there on one dangerous spot(there was only one spot) for over an hour
-Walking on shaky metal bars from a great height above the ground in the wind and rain
