Hey -- how many of you here have facebooks???  I just got one and I think it's a pretty cool site.  And I was thinking it would be cool if there was a piano street group on facebook.  but i don't think there is one.

I strongly suggest that you don't go anywhere near Myspace then, because you'll be uber-addicted with the amount you can customise!!

well Myspace is kind of...gross... it doesn't have the clean-cuttedness of facebook and facebook I feel a bit safer to be on because of the networking system, unless you are part of that network, you cannot see other people's profiles (does get annoying when creeing, but all in all it's a good thing)  The format and layout of myspace is just not as simple and efficient as facebook.  Also, myspace is full of pedophiles and 14 year old skanks  like nexopia.com (a canadian based networking site).  All in all, myspace doesnt appeal to me.

and pies? I found you sorabji group! haha there's 11 on there now! (and I didn't join!)

also, the great thing about facebook is the minifeed so it creeps for you and only if you want to go furthur in depth you can.  Myspace (to my knowledge, I can be totally wrong on this point) you actually have to actively creep everyone to see what theyre doing, facebook is so much more efficient in that regard.  although, my Bf gets mad at me for being on there constantly!and he lways knows hen I am on... but maybe this will help break my facebook addiction!

I find that with a private profile you get many, many more friend requests because most of them just want to see your profile. Each random request that I've approved, I've tried starting a conversation with them, so those that don't return it I simply delete from my list. These people are usually the same people that post spam bulletins (of their own accord, not from a bug, and you can tell most of the time), and people that don't seem to be using Myspace as a socialising network.

I'm waiting for them to add my school so I can actually join. It won't let me join otherwise.

I'll get there though, and when I do I will join the piano people group.

Where have you been?  They've taken the "you have to be in a school to join facebook" restriction down, and now all you have to have is an email address.

jlh, apparently it is still there. I am under 18, so it won't let me join unless I join through my school or college. It only has American and Canadian schools though.

I have sent them an email, and they'd better add my school, otherwise I will have to lie about my age.

heard once from a fiend of mine that he managed to join without school and he was under 18 then... He said that he just choosed no school or something and played a time with the page until the script accepted him or something but I don't know if this does still work...

I am hopeless at playing around with scripts, my boyfriend insists that he needs this book:

I am not that extreme though. And yes he is a geek.

So in the form where it asks your age put down that you're 18...

simple...!

That wouldn't work...I can be patient, I think someone else from my school has sent them an email asking them to add our school, so it should work.
