Hi Teguh,

As soon as I saw your "Oiseaux Tristes" posted here, I clicked on it.  I think you played it beautifully, capturing the wistful, somber, melancholy mood of the sad birds.  This is a difficult piece to play in many ways, and I believe that your rendition is of very high merit.  The piano, though, needs some work--it could have been in better tune and it very much needs some serious voicing, as the tone is too bright and brittle.  Is it a Steinway or Yamaha?  I couldn't tell from the video.   Also, what type of venue is that--an indoor auditorium or outdoor stage?  Anyway, despite the piano, you did an excellent job in my opinion.  Your playing is most expressive, and it is obvious you thoroughly enjoy performing this piece for your listeners.

Way back on page 13 of this forum is my "La vallee des cloches" also from Miroirs.  Sometime, if you have a moment to listen and comment, I'd be delighted.  Thanks for posting!

David

just kidding. hey, if you like ravel that much then you must like spa, also. why don't you go to the spa thread ( in anything but piano ) and apply for a job.

dear tds,

you really got into the mood of the piece!  you are a very talented pianist, tds.  i like your ability of concentration and the fact that you do not come in and out of your concentration - but carry it to the end.  susan

susan, i find concentration has a lot to do with both willingness and capacity to constantly self-lead and be led.

musically speaking, there needs to be something that always comes to the fore, not in volume per se, but more in mood, in every section. do i make sense? tds
