AVR
on: March 30, 2007, 01:57:22 AM
I went to the doctors today and found out I was diagnosed with Aortic valve regurgitation.

In 6 months I have to get a new Aorotic valve.

Has anybody had any of this heart conditions and overcome them?

I'm so sorry to hear this Jonathan :(
I know how you feel because I have an aortic disease too and in my case there's no cure
I know your condition can be cured ... so don't despair and GOOD LUCK !

aortic valve REGURGITATIOn?  what is that?  oh.  i see.  i just looked it up.  so sorry to hear of this.  the valve doesn't completely shut, i guess.

reading more about this - it says don't let strep throat go unchecked or you can make this worse.

i'm a bit curious if things in our bodies repair themselves when conditions are right.  for instance, if you get off the computer and take a 20 minute walk in the morning, at noon, and at night.  i would think that getting out and getting moderate exercise to start would be a good thing.  whether you have surgery or not.

when it comes down to the pre-op stuff - ask again to have the valve's condition checked.  it would be a curious thing if the aortic valve can repair itself - given some good conditions to work with.

do you ever wonder if too much weightlifting and things like that can cause troubles, too?  i'm just wondering.  when people hold their breath and lift and do stuff - can it pop things inside?  i think you have to be really careful and gradually work your way up to certain weights if you're a guy or into weightlifting.  my son is getting into it - but i hope he doesn't push himself too much at the beginning.  there's a trainer there, though, so hopefully he's getting good advice.

If he is holding his breath whilst lifting, he is not getting good advice.

well, at least it's cheap advice.  i mean - i don't have all the money in the world for this stuff.  he gave him the advice for a $9.00 gallon of whey protein powder.  my son thinks it's the key to weightlifting right now - so is drinking milkshakes with it once or twice a day.

ps i don't think he told him to hold his breath.  it just seems that's what he does when he bench presses.  i'm kind of worried about him because the whole of last year he was sitting at the computer gaming.  now, all of a sudden - i hope he doesn't overdo it.

Waste of money, get him some proper juice.

Watch out for shrunken nuts, spotty backs and yellow eyes.

i wouldn't know if he had shrunken nuts.  really, he'd have to start complaining about it.  i seriously doubt he would - because he's a very private person.  it would be fairly horrifying to him.  however, i would notice the yellow eyes.  what does that signify?  too  much computer to ever be good at weightlifting?

where does spotty back come in.  i rarely see his back unless he's washing the car or something.  what should i look for.  red spots.  where do those come from?  as far as i know - he's like a white bleached towel with freckles here and there.  irish, ya know.  he burns easily.  that could account for some of the spots.

what is 'proper juice?'  some kind of raw egg, vegetable concoction?

ps oh, you mean if he had an aortic valve complication.  i get it.  imbetter, do you have any of the aforementioned symptoms?  fess up.  they shrunk.  it was the first symptom you noticed.

ps oh, you mean if he had an aortic valve complication.

Thal was referring to use of anabolics. The yellow eyes come with the liver damage, the shrunken nuts by interference with natural hormone production. I don't know where the spotty back comes in.
