Any one else love this movie? Jimmy Stewart, Kim Novak. Just great. I've never seen Jimmy stewart in this sort of role. he plays the 'every man' like in it's a wonderful life so well I was surprised he could pull this off so pregnantcatishly. I love the soundtrack too. This is probably my favourite Hitchcock flick (but then again I've only seen 3-4). And kim novak! drool. Jean Arthur, Rita Hayworth, Kim Novak; Harry Cohn knew what he was doing!

I love this film too! Mind you, any combination of Hitchcock and Jimmy Stewart, I'm a fan of both... other favourites are Rear Window, Spellbound, Strangers on a Train and North by Northwest.

Amazing movie; Hitchcock was a genius for sure. I love Stewart, too.
[lau] 10:01 pm: like in 10/4 i think those little slurs everywhere are pointless for the music, but I understand if it was for improving technique

Bernhard Hermann.

I agree 100%!  They played the soundtrack once on the radio, and I couldn't believe how awesome it was even away from the movie.

This is one of my all-time faves, but I think it takes a certain mentality to approach it.  There is so much "negative space" with no dialogue, seemingly no action, just observation, that it can appear boring to many people.  I seem to find new details in it every time I watch, and the surprise, vicious ending reminds me of an effect in music.  So much is left for the audience to figure out and experience, it is really a fulfilling movie to watch, yet every time I think, "How could it end like this?!"
