Wrong.

The correct answer is Dusapin's piano concerto.

this coincerto isnt that underrated and underperformed. skepto's choice is, on the other hand. mostly because it is so newly composed (not that its my choice).

You can buy tickets for the Hamelin concert here:
https://shop.lpo.org.uk/performances/
I live too far away (North West) - it'd take me 6 hours to get there.
But if you decide to go, enjoy! I'm sure it'll be another fantastic performance by Hamelin. He never ceases to amaze me.
I'm seeing him play Ives Sonata 2 and Alkan concerto later this year, if you dont already know. At least, if i can get a ticket when they go on sale. I'm so badly looking forward!

On reading the thread title, I spontaneous thought: Stravinsky Capriccio   :D

It's a wonderful neoclassizistic piece, could be music for a ballet.

I heard this once with Christoph Eschenbach as soloist. Great piece, great performance.

If it doesn't work - try something different!

The Barber Piano Concerto is just as underperformed and/or under-recorded.

Wrong.

The correct answer is Dusapin's piano concerto.

" wrong. "   what a ridiculous and arrogant thing to say.

in your opinion, the dusapin is the most underperformed. in my opinion it is the stravinsky. how can either of us be wrong, if we are entitled to our own opinion ?

his opinion is more valid than yours. for example, the dusapin has only been recorded and performed by ian pace. the stravinsky has many recordings and is frequently performed. who's wrong now?

no one's wrong, of course. it's opinion. how can i be wrong about my own opinion?

its a poorly founded opinion. i was merely correcting your points about it being underperformed and underrated.

I got one that beats all the previously mentioned concerti.

Ginastera 2 - hands down, winner.

i agree with both pita and burstro. those are definitely underrated and underplayed. i think the ginastera 2 wins though.

if youre talking about the 3rd one for piano and 10 wind instruments, i believe you have won this one. i dont really care for it though.

I wrote a concerto when I was ten, and nobody has ever played it. Believe it or not, nobody has even HEARD of it.... Can a concerto be more underperformed than that??? ;)

if you ask me, this topic is pretty pointless, for everyone just seems to have what they call a "better" answer. and it has already been proven that the stravinsky is wrong.

Scriabin's Piano Concerto, I've never even heard it before...

Then there's John Cage's Concerto for Piano and 50 Million Screaming Voices aka 4'33"
