I use the one published by Henle Verlag, which is quite readable, durably constructed, and seems to have no mistakes, as Dover, Schirmer, and Cortot's editions are apt to.

The Dover edition is a reprint of the Vienna Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde Edition of Brahms' complete works, published in 1927 by Breitkopf & Hartel. It's one of the first urtext editions, and is very reliable. My grad school teacher was an urtext nazi; if this edition was bad, he'd have told me to burn it. And the price is right; for about $30-$40 all Brahms' piano music is yours (in three volumes).

That's the same editor for the Beethoven editions, is it annotated by Tovey, or does Tovey have anything to do with it? (Because if so, I'll shell out the money for it fo sho)

Arg, I ended up getting Henle, but I might still order the ABRSM.
