Thumb over? Can someone explain this technique?

Ok, I've recently come across this technique and I'm still not sure how you do it.  I'm also not sure what are its uses and its advantages over the thumbs under technique.

Can you describe what you're talking about?  I have no idea what 'thumb over' means but would like to know what you mean.

Scales. arpeggios and runs that exceed five keys.
