The funny thing with "time travels" is, that you think, the future is already going on - you only have to be transfered to it 

But then, if time travel is possible in the future, it is possible just now - the people of the year 2500 or so  could travel back easily to us. Why don't they?

That is true. Who in their right mind would want to come to 2007 when there are far more interesting times to visit. I list below what would be my top 10, in no spepific order.

1. 1837 - Liszt V Thalberg duel.
2. 1646 - Watch the Battle of Naseby
3. 1415 - Watch the English Archers give the Frogs a hammering at Agincourt
4. 1888 - Find out who Jack the Ripper was
5. 1945 - Visit Hitler in his bunker
6. 1215 - Witness the signing of the Magna Carta
7. 1888 - Stop the book case falling on Alkan
8. 2750bc - Watch the pyramids being built
9. 1250bc - Follow Moses through the Red Sea
10 34     - Give Jesus a glass of water whilst he was on the cross

That's just relativity. It has nothing to do with time travel. It is just the nature of time that it depends on your frame of reference. Time is not universal. Time is relative to your frame of reference.

There is no extra matter. The two 'copies' are made of the same matter. Well, not really actually since after 10 years many molecules in your body will have been replaced.

I mean, they could have travelled to 2004 or 2010, not precisely 2007. It is unlikely that if they invent a time machine they will go back to every possible point of time in the past.

Nobody knows how they measured one millionth of a second?  I guess since it's scientific, we just have to accept it as fact. Us mere motals wouldn't understand the process anyway.

The point is that there is no one from the future in either the past or the present. If they could time travel they can. It doesn't take time to time travel. It's like saying that they are travelling here but they haven't arrived yet.

Anyway, just to give you a hint. The most accurate atomic clock has an accuracy of two nanoseconds on a day.

Yeah, that's where I would go if I could time travel.  I'd go back in time and go to a convention... a convention filled with geeky scientists trying to figure out something that had already been done.

why do people always need a machine.  it's quite simple.  stop correcting the clock in spring and fall.  spring forward in the fall and fall back in spring.  in a few years - time would be completely irrelevant.  it would match the unseasonable weather.  the only thing left would be to have the sun and moon go completely black.  then, try to figure out what time it is.  (i'm scaring myself - because it actually says that in the bible - that the sun and moon will become dark).  but, if Jesus Christ is our light- then everyone will truly see Him when he arrives.  there'll be no mistaking where our true light comes from.

no man knows the day and hour - but counterpoint - i do think it COULD be within 10 years.  not saying this is a prophecy or anything.  but, how long do world wars typically last?  maybe 2-3 years.  ok  so IF we have a world war - and the biological, chemical, and nuclear powers are unleashed - i think if there are some people left over - they would be kinda relieved that this nightmare won't go on as long as it could.  i mean- radiation sickness?  that's even mentioned in revelations - as best as john could describe it.

as i see it - i don't wish for life to continue as it always has.  it's only gotten progressively worse.  we have great technological breakthroughs that are matched with great depravity.  for instance, just today - at virginia tech - some crazy is shooting people and killing and wounding them.  that's what happens at tech schools.  people lose their minds over not getting an 'A' on a test.

I mentioned wine, not vinegar; maybe the event has, like so much else, been either lost or misappropriated in translation(s), but I'd always thought that legend had it that He turned water into wine, not vinegar and, whilst cool fresh water might well have assuaged Him a little in that situation, some decent wine might likewise have help to anęsthetise Him abit.

Seriously though, I think I would like to go back and just be a fly on the wall -- be invisible -- and know exactly how events occured.  And then go to the future to "borrow" their technology and see what's going on so I can plan ahead now.  Of course, in doing that, I'd probably mess up the development of those things to begin with somehow.
