how many of you in this forum are concert pianisits or are seriously pursuing the piano as a career?

Not I.  MeiTing is from that other thread about his Feux Follets concert recording.

I'd like to play for the public if I ever become skilled and talented enough but I don't think I'd like to tour - there's too much of an individualistic character about "touring" with the soloist as the primary focus.  It seems to self-agrandtised; Liszt-like.  I prefer Chopin-like.

Certain pianists prefer the big audience, pianists like Jorge Bolet... They feel that live music making is at the greatest playing in front of an appreciative audience...

For me, to be able to play good chamber music with some really talented and music loving people can be really fun too.

But of course, there is always this dream of playing with an orchestra... *Dream On*
