Baroque Dances -- I need to review

Allamande, Corrante, Gigue, Sarabande, etc.

Baroque dances.

What do the names mean exactly?  Or as exactly as the definitions get.  I remember vaguely... Gigue is 6/8?.... but I want to be more exact, refreshed.


And while we're at it -- Do these dances ever segue one straight into the other without a break?
